Enamore ethical and enamore eccentric

Unique: “Peek a Boo”

Last week BraSelector caught up with Jenny Ambrose,
boss of Enamore, the fashion label leading “ethical trading” in the UK. So what’s it all about?

Enamore is a designer and manufacturer of fashionable and original ladies’ clothing, lingerie and accessories. There are and exclusive collections comprise natural and organic fibres, such as hemp, cotton, silk and wool, and recycled vintage materials.

Jenny has loved fashion and materials for many years and left fashion college to make her own designs and clothing using hemp and vintage fabrics in her works. After a great deal of hard graft and, at times, “quite miserable” living conditions Enamore was born and – we think you should all take a look.

Who said all the shops are the same these days? Enamore designs its own lingerie (amongst other clothing) and is more than just another “brand”. You can find its clothes in exclusive boutiques and online at www.enamore.co.uk. Now, time for some questions. Continue reading ‘Enamore ethical and enamore eccentric’

Banking on bras

Bank of Scotland International will be raising funds for Jersey’s After Breast Cancer Support Group in its annual lunchtime Bra Dash through St. Helier on Friday 25th May.

The Bra Dash will start at 12.15pm outside Bank of Scotland International’s office on New Street in St. Helier. Runners are requested to either wear a decorated Bra on the day, or turn up in fancy dress, or both!

The Dash will race off down New Street, up King Street and Queen Street, as far Snow Hill. The runners will then turn around and head back down Queen Street, King Street and onto Charing Cross. From there, the Dash will head into Old Street, Union Street and back along the home strait to Bank of Scotland International’s office on New Street.

There will be prizes awarded on the day for the best dressed team (£100), the person with the best decorated bra (£50) and the best fundraiser (£50.)

During the event, light refreshments will be provided by Fitness First and Maids of Honour. Fitness First is also offering free personal health checks to everyone involved on the day.

Tony Wilcox, Managing Director at Bank of Scotland International, says:
“We look forward to welcoming everyone to this years’ Bra Dash event and helping us to make this an event to remember.”

For the second year running, the funds raised during the Bra Dash will be used to support the ongoing work of Jersey’s After Breast Cancer Support Group. Set up in 1999, this local charity aims to promote awareness of breast cancer issues and provides patients and their families with hope, support and friendship at any stage of treatment.

Pippa Simpson, chairperson of the After Breast Cancer Support Group, commented, “We wish the best of luck to all potential Bra Dash runners and would like to thank everyone in advance for their continued support.”

Crazy Japanse bra designs

They say that for products to compete in ths day and age, they need something new- an innovaton to give the the edge. Bras are no exception (at last the idea that they have to innovate is not). Triumph in Japan are continuously coming up with ideas, such as the heated bra covered in Bra Selector

Triumph shopping bra

A blog has been keeping up with the bratech from Triumph, from football cups (OK sounds like a headline from The Sun) to the latest bra that doubles up as a shopping bag!

Apparently, when the bra is being worn, the “shopping bag” portions are folded away inside the bra cups, where they serve as extra padding. The bra quickly converts to a shopping bag by removing the bag portions from the cups and connecting the hooks on the bra’s underwire. The lace cups serve as decoration along with the shoulder straps, which are disconnected and tied to the top of the bag as ribbons
