Elle Macpherson talks sexy lingerie with PM’s wife

Yes, I had to share this with you. Sarah Brown interviewed Elle “The Body” Macpherson, creator of Elle Macpherson Intimates during her stint as the News Of The World’s guest editor – and I thought they’d turned Tory.

Apparently Elle stays healthy by drinking 6 bottles of water a day and is partial to herbs when feeling unwell.

When asked about her fabulous range of lingerie she acknowledged the fact that not all women have such enviable figures.

I’m conscious when I’m designing lingerie of the need to create for all different types of women, so that my designs enhance the proportions of a woman’s body. Most women want to make their hips look narrower and their breasts look bigger.

What more could you want – it’s obviously the secret to Elle Macpherson intimates success.

Sloggi has announced the results of its “Show me your sloggi” global modelling contest with full-on 80′s glamour in a disused swimming pool in Paris this week. The contest could be better named “best bottom” because the concept was simple – find the best male and female bottoms in the world!

Melanie Nunes Fronckowiak, 20, Brazil has the “Most Beautiful Female Bottom in the World” and Saiba Bombote, 27, France, has the “Most beautiful Male Bottom in the World”.

World’s best bottoms

EUR 15,000 prize money, plus some exclusive insurance for their precious derrieres.

Before the final choice was announced the contestants had to convince the jury of their modelling qualities with an extraordinary choreography in the “Club Quartier Latin”.

Members of the Sloggi somewhat quirky jury included:

  • Adriana Karembeu, supermodel and actress.
  • Paolo Nespoli, ESA Astronaut.
  • Stan Murmur, Conceptual Artist.

New invention keeps runners breasts under control

Canadian inventor Carol Clay was fed up with boob bounce when running.

The very first Janestrapâ„¢ prototype was literally the tie-belt to my bathrobe. I put on my most useless sport bra and then wrapped the tie-belt around my chest and fastened it with some safety pins. I then went for a run and was completely blown away! This crazy idea works! There was no bounce. I knew that this idea had potential so I set about to come up with an idea that would be marketable.

Janestrap

The Janestrapâ„¢ is a motion-control sport strap for large breasted women. Worn over your sports bra, the Janestrapâ„¢ limits vertical movement of the breasts allowing you to exercise in comfort without pain or embarrassment.

The idea is simple, but won over the judging panel of Canadian Dragons Den. Available in four sizes, the Janestrapâ„¢ is made of supportive elastic, wickable fabric for moisture control and features 4 rows of hook and eyes for adjustability.

You must have a good sports bra to begin with! The Janestrap is for women who have a good sports bra but still find they have excessive breast bounce.

If this sounds like your dream invention take a look at www.janestrap.com. We are not currently aware of any UK stockists.

German policewomen get bulletproof bras

Yes, it’s official. The Germans have lost the plot and issues every serving policewoman a bulletproof bra.

It’s a Wonderbra!

The bras are made of cotton or polyester and are padded. Unlike bullet-proof vests, they have no metal or plastic under-wire or fasteners that can pierce skin and injure the wearer when a bullet hit the body armor.

Sounds pretty soft… Well soft, at least. I’m afraid even Brashop, our very own bra superstore doesn’t cater for action dolls.

According the the Beeb, there are a couple of serious points behind this.

“The impact of a bullet can push the metal and plastic bits of the bra into an officer’s body, causing serious injury,” said Carmen Kibat, an adviser on equal opportunities for the Hamburg-based Bundespolizei – Germany’s federal police force.

Green Knickers
Sarah Lucy Smith and Rose Cleary-Southwood set up Green Knickers to make people smile and make people think. The heat print knickers that turn a daisy into bloom when they warm up against your skin are certainly playful. Dead serious are the ecological fabrics employed, which include organic cotton and hemp. Not bad value for £15 – 25.

People Tree
People Tree is a pioneer in terms of fashion footprint. Its eco policy is to promote natural and organic cotton farming, avoid using damaging chemicals, use natural, recycled and biodegradable substances where possible, to recycle where possible and to protect water supplies and forests.

Eat from your bra

On November 7, lingerie maker Triumph International Japan unveiled the “My Chopsticks Bra,” which features a pair of cups that resemble bowls of rice and miso soup, and a set of collapsible chopsticks that tuck into either side. The My Chopsticks Bra is the latest addition to Triumph’s line of concept lingerie designed to boost awareness of environmental issues.

Triumph unveils the My Chopsticks Bra as Japanese consumers are becoming more aware of the negative impact that disposable chopsticks have on the environment. While it is becoming increasingly trendy for people to reduce waste by carrying around their own reusable chopsticks, Japanese consumers still go through an estimated 25 billion pairs (90,000 tons) of disposable chopsticks each year, which amounts to 200 pairs per person.

Triumph lingerie model Yuko Ishida, who ordinarily carries around a pair of her own chopsticks, says she hopes people think of the environment when they see this bra, adding that “the chopsticks on the sides help add a little extra volume to your bust.” Continue reading ‘Eat from your bra’
