Star in a Bra 2010 kicks off today

With the 2008 and 2009 Star in a Bra searches fighting the cause for plus size models, the Star in a Bra search 2010 is once again scouring the country for naturally curvy girls, who have the chance of becoming the face and body of the new fuller bust brand Curvy Kate.

Star in a Bra 2009

Although the UK’s average boob size is now above a DD and the average dress size a 16, many fashion brands still lack in choosing models that relate to these statistics. Going against the grain, online retailer Brastop.com are championing the UK’s shapely figures and their average 34G customer by searching for a DD+ girl who is curvy, charismatic and confident with a fuller body and natural bust. Elle Macpherson Intimates
Elle Macpherson Intimates

Elle Macpherson Intimates lingerie is a huge success, and with good reason but it is fair to say it occupies an expensive price range. Here is Bra Selector’s top pick and two tips to help you save some pennies and bag yourself some killer undies.

Intimately sheer, this gorgeous lace notes bra from Elle Macpherson is sexy but subtle. Underwired, 3/4 cups support & enhance your bust, the adjustable straps offer you flexible comfort. Lace trimming & pretty bow details complete the style.

Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson stopped the traffic when she launched her own lingerie range with Bendon Ltd in 1990.

These days, however, Elle doesn’t need to appear in the campaigns: thanks to its fashion-forward styles and feminine feel, her label is now hugely popular in its own right.

If you get on down the Figleaves quick you can pick up Elle Macpherson Intimates in their big sale. Don’t worry if you’ve picked this blog up later on though – you can compare prices on Elle Macpherson intimates any time.

Three step bra size measurement

We stumbled upon this little video guide to DIY bra size measurement and thought it was worth sharing.

1. Band size
Wear a non-padded bra and use a soft tape measure. Hold the tape measure around your back at band level. Then bring it to the front, just above your bust. The resulting number is your band size.

If the number is odd, round down to the closest even number.

2. Bust measurement
Measure completely around the fullest part of your bust (at nipple level). This is your bust measurement. if this measurement falls on the 1/2 inch, round up.

3. Cup size
Subtract the band size (step 1) from the bust measurement (step 2). This number equates to the letter of your cup size.

Bust Measurement – Band Size = Cup Size.

For example, if your bust measurement is 36″ and your band size is 34, you wear a 34B bra.

KU SHU SHU launches first collection

Good morning, and today we have more Australian lingerie to get excited about.

KU SHU SHU
Silk Tales

KU SHU SHU is a collection of luxurious stretch woven silk lingerie and loungewear, launched in Sydney in 2010 by designer Judy Anderson. Judy grew up amongst the spectacular scenery of northern New South Wales and, upon finishing school, she enrolled in Fashion College, where her passion for design was nurtured and a talent for lingerie construction led her to her first job as a pattern-maker and designer for a leading Australian label. Her training in bras and corsetry construction was comprehensive and led to a twenty year career working with leading companies including Berlei, Marks and Spencer and Gossard in Australia, the United Kingdom, Portugal, the United States, France and Asia.

Judy’s working travels and collaborations with many wonderfully talented people inspired her to create her own unique label, KU SHU SHU, which reflects and draws upon the styles she admires.

KU SHU SHU has just launched its first collection, named “The Story Teller’s Garden”. It’s easy to see what they describe as:

the fond notion of snuggling up in front of an open fire in your best silk underwear.

Within this boutique collection you will find two limited edition printed silk camisoles: Autumn Rose and Winter Magnolia. The Silk Tales collection includes a silk padded balcony bra, knickers (see photo) and camisole in three colours in B, C and D cups.

We don’t yet know when or where this super silk lingerie will be available in he UK but we’ll keep our radar tuned. If you find out first, why not leave us a comment!
